Volunteer Program
Caring and Sharing with Skills and Interests
King-Bruwaert
volunteers discover great personal joy in donating their time, skills,
talents and gifts to senior adults who enjoy personal attention,
socialization, discussions, walks and daily activities. Our residents
enjoy the contact they have with volunteers, just as they do when
visiting with family members, friends or members of the clergy.
For those considering an opportunity for volunteerism, we offer
a flexible schedule, encouraging a minimum of two hours a week in
an area of interest. Our volunteer orientation program consists
of a building tour, patient care introduction and an overview of
house policies. Morning, afternoon or evening hours may be arranged
for volunteer service. Men, women and junior high or high school
students are welcome to become part of our friendly volunteer network.
Volunteers
enjoy special privileges at King-Bruwaert House. Lunch or dinner
is provided to volunteers on their assigned days. For volunteers
accompanying residents on group outings or field trips, King-Bruwaert
House pays the corresponding activity or parking fees.
Each year all King-Bruwaert volunteers working a minimum number
of hours are invited to a recognition luncheon where our staff
recognizes their vital contributions to our retirement community.
We appreciate their dependability, enthusiasm, honesty and integrity
- hallmark qualities of our own professional staff.
Volunteers may consider one or more of these service
areas or activities:
