Volunteer Program
Caring and Sharing with Skills and Interests
King-Bruwaert volunteers donate their time, skills, talents and gifts to residents who benefit from personal attention, socialization, discussions, walks and daily activities. Many of our residents enjoy the contact they have with volunteers, just as they do when visiting with family members or friends.
For those considering an opportunity for volunteerism, we offer a flexible schedule, encouraging a minimum of two hours a week in an area of interest. Our volunteer orientation program consists of a building tour, resident care introduction, background check and an overview of house policies. Morning, afternoon or evening hours may be arranged for volunteer service. Men, women and college students are welcome to become part of our friendly volunteer network.
Volunteer opportunities include:

- Clerical services
- Assistance with Interfaith services
- Horticultural activities
- Personal visits
- Fitness programs
- Holiday or seasonal decorating
- Arts & crafts, ceramics
- Sewing and woodworking
- Bridge, card games
- Ice cream or cocktail socials
- Reading
- Billiards
